Alumni Praise!

Congratulations to FMCS Alumni, Jardin McCarthy! She is one of five high school students to receive the Hillmyer-Tremont Student Athlete Foundation Scholarship - one of five recipients of $16,000 college scholarships!

Since 1998, the foundation has distributed more than $750,000 in scholarships to Lee County high school seniors. The awards are based on academic and athletic achievement, as well as financial need. The foundation is named after Monk Hillmyer, who passed away September 29, 2008, and Elmer Tremont, a Florida High School Coaches Hall of Fame member who coached basketball at Fort Myers and Cypress Lake high schools.

Jardin McCarthy
McCarthy played varsity basketball for four seasons, including three as team captain at Cape Coral. McCarthy also played volleyball and was a member of the track team. Besides playing sports, she volunteered tutoring high school and elementary school students. McCarthy will graduate with a 4.8 GPA and plans to continue her education at Florida Gulf Coast's business program.
