I would like to thank Mrs. Tina Williams, her Cookie Exchange staff, and parents who helped to make our first Christmas Cookie Exchange a success - over 1500 cookies came through the school and out to families and friends!

Preschool Harvest Fest

A beautiful day to watch preschoolers, parents, family, friends and teachers enjoy hands-on activties centered around the fall and Thanksgiving:

THANK YOU

The fundraising efforts from the Silent Auction are "bringing forth fruit." The first step of improvements has taken place with all new widescreen, flat screen monitors in the Children's Center lab. Next step: replacing as many older computers as we can with the remaining funds in the classrooms. THANK YOU!

BLESSED By Our Veterans

FMCS does not take Veterans Day off of school - if we did, we would miss out on an awesome day like today! We would miss out on eleven of our nation's finest service men coming in and speaking to our children about their experiences in war, service and committment to our country. Among the speakers today was 90 year old, World War II and D-Day survivor, Jim Pancoast. Let us never forget the price that has been paid for our freedom! Thank you to all of our veterans! Thank you to our National Junior Honor Society for being their hosts today.

Praise Report From Miss Shrader

"Every year our third, fourth and fifth grade students enter the Lee County Bookmark Contest. They create a bookmark during library class following the guidelines provided by the Lee County Public Library. Every year has a different theme. This year was "Dive Into Reading." Today, Sherry Hill, a librarian from the Lee County Public Library System visited our school to tell us that one of our students won second place! Congratulations, Celina!!" - Miss Jay Shrader, Librarian

Character In Action

"The passing of the flag from Mrs. Sanders class who held the reign last month, now passes it on to our our new lunchroom champs this month Miss Mc McLaughlin's class. They were very diligent in making sure they had a clean table and encouraged each other during the NO Talking time (by signing of course) They didn't even give up when 4th grade was ahead of them for a while. Good Job Miss McLaughlin's class on your hard work." - Mrs. Edwards

Mission 24:40 Assembly

Ft. Myers Christian School officially kicked-off their missions year with the Missions 25:40 Assembly. Each grade has their own mission/volunteer outreach organization to help us be a "light" off of our campus - to the local community and the world. Students also become very educated about each organization and, you never know, they could be working with these organizations some day as adults. Here are this year's organizations:

Preschool: The Pajama Project
Kindergarten: American Red Cross
First: Salvation Army
Second: Senior Friendship Center
Third: WAY-FM and Gabriel House
Fourth: Ronald McDonald House
Fifth: New Missions Systems International
Sixth: American Heart Association
Seventh: The Barnabus Ministry
Eighth: Missions trip, March 31-April6, in Corpus Christi, Tx

All School outreach of this year: Operation Christmas Child. From 2001-2007, FMCS families have donated 2387 shoe boxes! The deadline this year will be November 13th.
