National Honor Society History at FMCS!

Tonight, Ft. Myers Christian School celebrated two Honor Society Inductions. The school was issued a charter this year for the first National Elementary Honor Society, an organization that recognizes outstanding students in fourth through sixth grade. This chapter is one of the first to be granted here in Southwest Florida. (We are the first and only Christian school in this area; only eight other schools in the area have an NEHS) Our chapter is the named after Josiah - after the eight year old king who changed his people through his Godly leadership. Our first group of NEHS inductees are: 4th graders: Kelsi Bevington, Brennen Cole, Blair Colbert, Olivia Cook, Tyler Goguen, Jenna Iten, Jennifer Lavorgna, Austin O'Grosky, Sarah Swiersz, Michael Walch, Androse Watson, Parker Wunderlich; 5th graders: Elijah Benzon, Caroline Chester, Joshua Harriott, Joshua Harvey, Victoria Weller, Tyler Williams; 6th graders: Mallory Dillon, Celine Gulbronson, Zachary Liebetreu, Taylor Lowry, Robin Mitchell, Haley Morig and Amy Romstadt. The chapter sponsor is fifth grade teacher, Mrs. Robin Couch.

The school also inducted twelve new members for their spring induction for their National Junior Honor Society: 7th graders: Brett Billman, Holly Branthoover, Taylor Derums, David Faux, Carlye Fulton, Karina Rivera, Megan Morrow, Robert Rose, Brooke Schafe, Julie Wagner and Tucker Zahorian; 8th grader, Wray Burgess. The NJHS sponsor is middle school language arts teacher, Mrs. Jennifer Crouch.
