Gingerbread Houses Help Gabriel House

From Mrs. Tuma: The 3rd grade class would like to thank everyone who helped out with the Gingerbread Houses. They were a huge success and it would not have been possible without so many of you. We are so excited to report that we raised $350 for The Gabriel House! We prayed and hoped that we would be able to bless them, but never did we imagine the blessing would be this large. The 3rd graders and I can’t thank you enough for your help in reaching out to an amazing organization right here in our community. Have a Merry Christmas! Fourth Grade Meets The Mayor

Mrs. Sanders 4th grade class was honored today to have a special guest: Fort Myers Mayor, Mr. Randy Henderson. Our mayor talked about his background, what his duties are as mayor and took questions from the students. The class has been studying Florida history. Our mayor also did a great job talking about how his faith plays an important part in his life.

Special Project in 2A

From Mrs. Jennings, 2A teacher: As part of our reading the curriculum, 2nd grade completed a unit on "People in our Community." The class was was divided into two co-operative learning groups. Day one individually the students had to write a list of what they personally thought makes up a good city. Day two: the groups had to come together to talk about why cities are different than living in the country and share which they would prefer to live in the city or the country. They then each had to read through their city list and the group had to pick one idea from each person and combine them in to a group paragraph titled, "What is in our City". Day Three: the groups had to re-read their story "People, People, Everywhere!" then lay out and design the city they wanted to make. Finally using various materials the group together had to build their cities.
