One of My Favorite Programs at FMCS

The "Reading Buddies" program at FMCS is one of my favorite! Mrs. Couch's 4th grade students get a chance to read a story with a PK4 student in Mrs. Carefoot's class. On this day, March 20th, the "buddies" came together for Easter to have an egg hunt, share treats, and talk about the real meaning of Easter. I am proud of these teachers for this idea!

Kingdom Assignment Update

FINAL TOTAL: FMCS Kingdom Assignment IV has added up to $8004.43. Our four year total is $40,909.43! One comment from a parent: "Thank-you FMCS for allowing and encouraging such independence, creativity and the opportunity to serve in this mission. As a point of interest, when asked about her school, my daughter proudly told people that at Fort Myers Christian School she gets to learn about God, go to chapel and do math, art, computer and P.E. Amazingly, when coming from one so young, strangers were open to hearing about her God and how Jesus lives in her heart. Please accept this $25 and we know, with confidence, how great the benefits are with this "Kingdom Assignment."

Third Grade Supports Christian Radio

From WAY-FM's newsletter: "This school year WAY-FM has had the distinct privilege of being adopted by the third grade classes of Ft. Myers Christian School. Mrs. Miller and Miss McLaughlin's classes are working together to do whatever they can to help accomplish its mission...and they are helping! We at WAY-FM are very excited about this unique partnership and have already been blessed by the encouraging letters the students have sent us. The class also works on bulletin boards for upcoming WAY-FM events in order to promote them to the whole school. Most importantly the classes pray for us every day."

Praise from a Parent

Mr. Mitchell, I wanted to email you about some good things happening. To often we look at the negative. But I want to stress the positive. At Fort Myers Christian School. last week when the school lost its power, I went to pick up Emma. We had to leave her wheelchair upstairs as the elevator was not working. When she went outside Jeff Hoffman saw her struggling across the sidewalk. He immediately took some of his men, went upstairs, and they carried her electric chair down the stairs for Emma to take home. Another time these men had to lift it into the van as the lift did not work. To me this was incredible that they would even offer to do this. Jeff Hoffman and his group truly needs to know how blessed we are to have them iinvolved in our lives at church and at school. I am almost positive this would not have happened in a non- Christian environment. We are so blessed to be a part of FMCS and First Assembly. God Bless Annie Ravish

Preschool Workout!

The 4 year olds had a chance to work off all their energy at "Pump It Up" here in Fort Myers. Pump It Up is a franchise operation that has two rooms full of large inflatable bounce houses and obstacle course for kids and adults to play. What blessed me was watching the kids, adults, teachers, and teacher aides all playing together and having a fun time! (Those adults will be sore tomorrow.)

PK3, NJHS, and Kindergarten!

Friday, 2/29, was a reason to "leap" day! First, I filled in as a driver for the Kindergarten trip to the fire station. On the way there, I was blessed by the Christian songs being sung by Mrs. Smith's class; when I picked them up, she took advantage of the time by conducting a review to see what the kids learned in the fire station - they were great and conducted themselves very well. During the day back at school, the National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) students were "buddys" with PK3 students as they went on a campus on a "field trip/scavenger hunt." It was so cute watching the older students, especially the guys, take the hand of the 3 yr olds and lead them around in their groups. A great event through Mrs. Harrington and Mrs. Jean, PK3 teachers, and Mrs. Mitchell, NJHS supervisor.
